Ronald and For Real

Ronald had been sheltering in an RV with his four dogs when his Pekingese, For Real, developed a Perineal Hernia. Ronald brought For Real to SVO for treatment, but he needed more extensive care than could be provided at a mobile clinic. Our Resource Navigator worked with Ronald to identify a vet clinic that could provide the surgery For Real needed, while providing Ronald with extra time to pay the bill. We also helped Ronald apply for financial aid assistance as well as helped him sign up for housing waiting lists. We then provided vaccinations and microchips for all four of Ronald’s dogs so they could qualify to join him in his new permanent housing!

"I will not give up on my buddies they have really been there for me in my worst of times. Thank you so much for all your help in helping us all from the bottom of my heart. I love you guys."

Denise and Tasha

"Tasha has saved me. I have mental illnesses and was exhausted from it and suicidal before Tasha. I had really bottomed out. Prior I was a teacher but lost my job and housing. My daughter and I were homeless for two years. I was so ashamed and felt like such a failure. My family took me in and when I re-established housing, I found Tasha in the paper and was lucky enough to be the first caller. Tasha got me out and talking to people again. They stop me and ask about her and with that my shame has slowly left me to be replaced with confidence. Tasha is extremely loyal and protective to me and a dear friend. She could never be replaced, and I will never forget what she's done for me."
